I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where I graduated from North Side High School in 1966. I received my B.A. Degree from Indiana University in 1970 and my Law Degree (magna cum laude) from Indiana University, Indianapolis School of Law in 1973.

After graduating from Law School, I returned to Fort Wayne, Indiana where I served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney until 1983. In 1980, the law firm of Shambaugh, Kast, Beck & Williams, LLP was founded with my partners, Mike Kast and Steve Williams.

I am a member of the Allen County, Indiana and American Bar Associations, as well as the American Association of Justice and the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association on which I have been a Director since 1987 and currently serve as an Emeritus Director. Locally, I serve as a Director of the Schwab Foundation.

My primary areas of interest and practice are civil litigation with a primary emphasis on plaintiff's personal injury, domestic relations, and mediation.
