If a person is or becomes "incapacitated" - meaning that, for whatever reason, they need assistance in making personal and medical decisions, or in handling their property - it may be necessary to ask the court to appoint a guardian. We work with our clients in seeking, or sometimes in resisting the appointment of a guardian. Once a guardian is appointed, there are numerous accounting duties and other obligations which that individual or entity will need to satisfy. We work with our guardian clients to help them understand and satisfy such obligations, enabling them to concentrate on taking care of the protected person.
