When an individual dies, there are always steps necessary to transfer their property to those who are to receive it, and to otherwise "wrap up" their affairs. Sometimes this is done through the administration of a probate estate. Even if the individual arranged during life to avoid the administration of a probate estate - by creating and funding a trust, for instance - there will still be certain transfer documents and tax returns which need to be prepared and properly filed. In addition, there may be other details for the beneficiaries to attend to, such as income tax consequences to the beneficiaries or certain accounting issues. Whatever the situation, our philosophy is to work with our clients to make this process as efficient and trouble-free as possible. We pay attention to the details for our clients, making sure that the job is done right.
